Today is the world book day and I am curious to know which book or books influenced your life.
I have dozens of favourite books that have spoken to me, have changed my life perspective and cannot decide which one has been the most influential.
As a kid and teenager, I was transfixed by Charles Dickens’s ‘Oliver Twist’, Mark Twain’s ‘Tom Sawyer’, Luigi Pirandello’s ‘Novelle Per Un Anno’, Leo Tolstoy’s ‘War and Peace’, Stendhal’s ‘Red and Black’ or Honoré de Balzac’s ‘Illusions Perdues’
Later in life I was influenced by Isabel Allende’s ‘House of Spirits’, Julia Cameron’s ‘The Artist Way’, Paulo Coelho’s ‘The Alchemist’, Richard Branson’s ‘Screw It, Lets do it’, Michael Gerber’s ‘The E-Myth Revisited’, Tony Robbins’s ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ or Alessandro Baricco’s ‘Silk’.
What are your favourite books and has there been any of them that really changed your life?
I’d love to know…
